On Saturday October 22nd, our scout troop went backpacking overnight in Zaleski State Forest. It was a little easier of a trek since we had some younger boys with us, so it was about 2 miles in and 2 miles out. I insisted we bring the Stingray, regardless of the weight. It worked perfectly, and proved to provide great insulation from the cool breezes that came through the night. Since we only hiked the 2 miles, we were determined to hike some more just for the fun of it. For this day hike to the Moonville train tunnel, I used the bag for the stingray as a day-pack. It was a great rucksack to use, holding my water and snacks with plenty of extra room. This trip is just one of many amazing experiences me and my friends have shared alongside Tentsile.
Travel links: Great for any time of the year. But if you plan on hiking to the Moonville Tunnel, you'll have to find an alternative way to cross the creeks, since there are no longer any bridges.
Utilities: Normal parking lot at the trailhead.
